Pandora AI Champion

Two months into my internship at foodpanda, there was a sudden drive to push for the adoption of Gemini CLI. As I had past experience with Codex and Claude Code, I was pretty happy that this terminal-based AI agent was introduced as it made my work way easier and faster.

However, I noticed that the majority of my colleagues in the data department weren't as keen as I was to adopt it. This was amplified when foodpanda rolled out the use of Claude Code, which was arguably the best terminal-based AI agent at the time.

Thus, I decided to take on the challenge to push for AI adoption within the team by leading multiple weekly AI sharing sessions, being the go-to resource for any AI-related questions, and building my own internal Graph RAG tool to track column-level lineages for dbt models.

I was fortunate to have my work recognized by my managers and ultimately the senior director of Pandora (a collection of three companies: foodpanda, foodora, Yemeksepeti), who offered me a position as the first ever intern for the Analytics Engineering AI Centre of Excellence (AI CoE) team. During the following townhall, I was nominated by my peers as Malaysia's Pandora AI Champion.
